Practical Action chooses Chameleon Net for home page redesign (14/09/2009)
London digital agency Chameleon Net has been contracted to redesign the UK home page of the website of Practical Action, the international development charity that works with some of the world's poorest people using simple technology to fight poverty.
The redesign has been commissioned to make the site easier for private and institutional donors to navigate to the key sections of the site. In turn, Practical Action is looking to improve the site's click through rates, email sign-ups and, ultimately, donations.
The contract win follows a similar project by Chameleon Net involving the recently revamped home page of the University of Portsmouth's website.
“Chameleon Net understands projects of this nature and has good experience in the non-profit sector,” says David Gibbs, Online Communications Officer at Practical Action. “We felt that the agency was ideally placed to work on this project for us and we're looking forward to working with its design and development team.”
Daryl Irvine, Creative Director of Chameleon Net commented that "There are unique design challenges in re-imagining the Practical Action homepage to create a more dynamic and engaging proposition. We will be working to profile more of the great content found deeper in their current site. As this project focuses only on the homepage we will also need to ensure a consistent experience and visual language for users on older pages.”
